Compare Medicare Supplement plans side-by-side

The chart below shows basic information about the different benefits Medigap policies cover.  There are 10 standardized Medicare Supplement plans; however there are only 3 worth considering at all.  This is because so few companies offer the other plans and so few folks choose those lesser plans that premiums are just not competitive like they are with the other planns shown here that we suggest.

Crossed Out = the policy doesn't cover that benefit
% = the plan covers that percentage of this benefit
N/A = not applicable

(Plans C and F aren't available to people who were newly eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020, or were eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020, but not yet enrolled.)

*** Plan N pays 100% of the Part B coinsurance, except for a copayment of up to $20 for some office visits and up to a $50 copayment for emergency room visits that don't result in inpatient admission.  If you see a provider that does not agree to Medicare reimbursement rates with a Plan N they can charge you up to 15% above the Medicare reimbursement rate.  Plan N does not reimburse this excess charge.
